When Andy and Jess approached us to build them what they described as a “project home”, the first thing we asked was “why?”. They replied that it was easier because of set designs and floor plans and also cheaper. So we decided to do some research into what our competitors are offering.
Although a project home package does generally make the decision process a bit easier, you will face alot of issues when trying to customise any aspect of the project, such as ceiling heights, layouts and even air conditioning. Even if you are successful in your request, such ‘scope changes’ tend to result in financial penalties that will ultimately blow the final cost out of proportion.
We presented our findings to Andy and Jess and explained our collaborative construction process, after which they agreed to proceed with a custom build. Our architects consulted with them directly and guided them through the design, which resulted in a ‘full inclusions’ package without the price tag.
